Used Electric Vehicles for Sale in Orange County

EVs make more sense in Orange County than almost anywhere — short commutes, mild weather that's easy on the battery, and a charging network that actually works. The used market is where the real value lives, with the worst depreciation already eaten by the first owner. We've already cut the problematic models, the high-mileage clutter, and the second-tier dealers.

How Orange County does EVs

  • A quarter of new cars. About 25% of the new cars registered in Orange County in 2025 were fully electric, against about 7% in 2020, and the share has held at about a quarter since 2023.
  • Less Tesla every year. Tesla was about 82% of the county's new EVs in 2020 and about 52% in 2025; the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Rivian R1S and Volkswagen ID.4 took most of the difference.
  • Newer fleet, more electric. About 22% of the county's 2021-or-newer cars are fully electric, against about 9% of all cars, which is why used EV lots skew so young.
