Privacy notice.

This Privacy Policy explains how Bestest Automotive LLC ("Bestest," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use shopbestest.com and related pages (the "Site"). Bestest is a curated used-car marketplace: we highlight vetted used-vehicle listings and connect interested shoppers with the dealers that hold them. We do not sell or finance vehicles ourselves. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

Information you give us.

Vehicle inquiries ("Check availability" lead form): your name, email address, phone number, any message you write, and whether you indicate interest in financing or have a trade-in.
Waitlist / sign-ups: your email address (and anything else you choose to provide).
Direct contact: if you email us, the contents of your message and your contact details.

Information collected automatically.

Usage and device data: via Google Analytics 4 — pages viewed, referring links, browser and device type, and a coarse, IP-derived approximate location. Used in aggregate to understand and improve the Site.
Cookies and local storage: a small number of cookies and browser local-storage entries (e.g. Google Analytics' _ga cookies, and values that remember your chosen ZIP/location so we can show nearby cars). See "Cookies" below.

Location information. To show cars near you, we estimate your approximate location from your IP address using third-party lookup services, and we store your chosen or detected ZIP code in your browser. If you tap "Use my location," your browser will ask permission to share your device's location; we use it only to sort listings by distance and store it in your browser. We do not need or store precise location on our servers.

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial-account numbers, government IDs, or similar sensitive identifiers, and you should never send them to us.

How we use information

To operate the Site and curate and display listings.
To connect you with a dealer when you submit a vehicle inquiry — the core purpose of the lead form.
To respond to your messages and requests.
To measure, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Site.
To send you information you've requested (e.g., waitlist updates), where permitted.
To comply with law and enforce our Terms.

How we share information

With the dealer you inquire about. When you submit the "Check availability" form, we share your inquiry (name, contact details, message, and the vehicle) with that dealer (and its agents) so they can respond. We may relay your inquiry to the dealer on your behalf.
With service providers that help us run the Site, under contracts limiting their use of the data — for example: website hosting and forms (Webflow), edge/serverless infrastructure (Cloudflare), data storage (Airtable), team notifications (Slack), image delivery (Cloudinary), analytics (Google), and location lookups (IP- and ZIP-geolocation providers).
For legal and safety reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Bestest, our users, or others.
In a business transfer — if Bestest is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined under California law).

Communications and consent (calls, texts, email)

When you submit a vehicle inquiry, you agree that Bestest and the dealer (and their agents) may contact you by email, and — if you provide your phone number — by phone call and text message, including by automated means, about that vehicle. This consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to texts, telling the caller, or emailing us at hello@shopbestest.com.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to remember your preferences (like your ZIP/location). You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.

Your California privacy rights

If you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to:

Know/access the personal information we've collected about you and how we use and share it;
Delete personal information we hold about you;
Correct inaccurate personal information;
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — note that we do not sell or share your personal information; and
Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@shopbestest.com. We will verify your request (typically by confirming control of the email or phone number associated with it) and respond as required by law. You may use an authorized agent.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes in this Policy — for example, to manage your inquiry and the resulting dealer connection — and as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes, after which we delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Third-party sites

The Site links to dealer websites and other third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one. We're not responsible for third-party sites.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be highlighted on the Site.
