The Mazda CX-5 is widely regarded as the most engaging compact SUV to drive, with one of the quietest cabins in the non-luxury compact SUV segment and high-quality interior materials with soft-touch bits, detailed stitching, and chrome trim that lend class. The 2022 CX-5 earned IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus and received a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. It ranked #1 in U.S. News's 2022 Affordable Compact SUVs category, and the 2022 CX-5 earned a top 3 spot in the Compact SUV category in J.D. Power's 2025 Vehicle Dependability Study. Every 2022 Model Year Mazda earned Consumer Reports "Recommended" designation, reflecting the CX-5's strong combination of driving dynamics, interior quality, and long-term dependability.
